Also, I somehow feel HoN's Monkey king is better than ours in terms of what I expected of his playstyle.

hon released theirs now because they wanted to have it out around lols. while the concept had been in hon for a year or so they bumped it up the list to be out near ours.

not really, just that their monkey king wasn't ready and they bumped it up mostly because they didn't want people going HURR YOU COPY LOL
i wouldn't be surprised if their next champion was the scorpion they had concept art for a year ago as well.
