Even if they hit 10 million, that isn't enough to support the type of team/staff needed to actually launch a successful system.

The project is only at day 3 of the "kickstart" and it's already at 4.2MILLION dollars. Pretty incredible I'd say.
Both the hardware and the software of the console is gonna be open source, so you bet your *** you'll see plenty of interesting modifications to it.
It's Android 4.0 based and will have HDMI, Bluetooth 4.0, USB2.0, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, 8GB storage and Nvidia Tegra 3 with 1GB RAM.
I think the performance is at almost the level of XBOX360 (from my playing around in games with a Tegra 3 tablet).
It'll cost 99 bucks.
