Random thought of mine, some people might know the Game Dwarf Fortress, others not:
http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

Its a real-time strategy managment (also has a RPG) mode game where you Manage a Dwarf Fortress(could also be just builded like a human town or anything else...) that has very-very in depth gameconcept and so complex calculations/etc. that it can even bring a high-end Computer to lag.

A Bloodline Game is basicly a Multiplayerpoject in Fortress Mode where u manage the fortress for a given period of time and then give the Save to the next Player and he plays for a given amount of (ingame)time, also people write down what they need, its not needed but nice, it can be done in any form(for example from the View of a ordinary Dwarf), or in other words: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Bloodline
Quoted:
A bloodline game, otherwise known as a "Succession game", is a game of Dwarf Fortress, normally played in Fortress mode, which is passed between multiple players in succession. Generally each player has their own unique management strategy, so with each turn one could expect significant changes to be made to the fortress. A classic example, from an earlier version of Dwarf Fortress, is Boatmurdered.

Bloodline games are often described turn by turn as a story, preferably with screenshots, illustrating everything that happens under the rule of each player.

Visit here for a list of bloodline games available on the wiki and here, for a larger list of community stories and bloodline games, found on the Bay12 forum.

So i thought we could do this with the Mobafire community if we get enough players together!
Anyone intersted?

The game system seems like a relict of the past, where game designers actually included hindrances that added more difficulty to the game without an automatic walkthrough option.
Like the early Might&Magic etc

But without a proper interface, even a hardcore retro gamer such as I cops out under the given circumstances.

*Caucheka +rep for this epic picture*

@Darcurse: The Game has some very good tutorial, i can suggest the Youtubevideotutorial from CaptnDuck(or CaptainDuck or something) DF Video Tutorial 2010 or smthing like that, the game is hard to learn, even harder to master, but its lots of fun, but seems like no one is intersted in something like this.

Also in regards of Graphics, there is enough fanmade content that replace this ugly ascii stuff.

Nah, let me rephrase that:

Even while I really like playing retro games, they have to create a minimum of sensation, depending on the type of genre.

Hence I totally dislike games that are more made of statistics than anything else.

For example:
I'd prefer to play sth like Anno 1404 etc if I had to choose.
The in-depth seems totaly awesome in Dwarven Fortress, but it wouldn't keep me excited enough over time.
