I currently looking into using LOL in research for a dissertation project. I was wondering if anyone would be up for organising team games (pvp or vs AI if people prefer) where i could record both gameplay and voice chat between teams? I would be looking at using discord and spectator mode for this (not sure if i can record in spectator mode just yet but would be something i'd look into).
I would be interested in researching how communication between team mates impacts gameplay in both competitive and cooperative gameplay :) I would be using another game for the cooperative, and thought LOL would be an interesting one to use for competitive!
I'd be happy to look into different game maps (either summoners rift/ ARAM or even ranked etc), as i know they can be very different!
Although id be recording gameplay and voice chat, the data i would collect would be annoymous when it comes to write up, i wouldnt be using usernames/ actual names or anything like that. I do want to iterate here that I wouldn't be interested in what your saying per say, just the level of communication between teams.
I would also be happy to look into a reward for the winning team of each game (I know there isnt anything to gain from custom games so will definitely be happy to provide something)
This idea is still in its very early stages so any feedback about whether this is actually doable would be appreciated! Just lemme know what you think :)
