Claw Thumb with Fingertip fingers, I have a naga, it pretty much forces you to use claw Thumb if you want any semblance of accuracy with the thumb pad.
Note though, that my hand is not big enough to palm the massive naga, otherwise i would be using palm + claw.

Still fingertip, you can move faster in a smaller area and effectively use the wheel.
Shooter games trim you that way I guess.
