So I'm looking to be the "tank" out of my friends. Do you guys have any suggestions for a good tank champion with fair amounts of CC?

Most viable ones at the moment -
Rammus (dat taunt)
Galio (Though he's more of an AP off tank, dat taunt)
Nautilus (3/4 of his abilities and his passive have CC on them. Eeeeeeyup.)
Singed (He's a really good jungler, very fun to play, and that 75% AoE slow bro)
Cho (Godlike solo top, pretty good jungler. Not as CC oriented as other tanks, but has more damage)
Maokai (amazing jungler, but only one reliable CC, and very hard to play)

Unless you want me to include off tanks!

I find Leona also fitting as tank. IF SHE WASN"T FORCED TO BE A SUPPORT

She isn't.

She's just bad at everything else.
Tri lane for life.

Malphite is pretty viable at the moment aswell. Lots of 1900+ streamers either play him jungler or AP mid, some even top.

Rammus and Maokai are strong jungling tanks if your friends enjoy playing snowball champions.

Teemo is among the most op tanks. He has a global taunt.

Shen is REALLY good after his buffs, but he gets banned a lot. But his global presence, sustain, and teamfights potential is really strong.

Are you laning or jungling tanks?

I recommend jungling them.

That being said, Rammus, Maokai, Malphite, Shen, and Cho Gath are all you're going to need.

Leona can be a good top laner, even against 2 opponents. Her durability with a single Cloth Armor or Regrowth Pendant is great.

Leona also can be played as a support in lane, but not as a full-time support. Full-time support Leona would suck, and I'll suggest all Leona players to get philosopher's stone and Heart of Gold anyway for gold income, plus possible upgrades.

Otherwise, These are my best options for tanks

Top laner tanks
Leona (Stun, armor + MR increase, Suppress, Stun/slow)
Maokai (Knockback, snare, AOE defensive ult)
Galio (AOE taunt, slow/speed)
Cho'Gath (Double CC, Massive damage)
Mundo (YES Mundo. Ever see a good skillshot player? Mundo is a good option for them)
Shyvana (Tanky DPS, uber tank with just a warmog)
Irelia (Must-nerf)
Sejuani (Perma-slow, Stun)

Bottom laner (Support-tanks)
Maokai
Alistar
Taric (Not much CC tho)
Blitzcrank (Unique displacement skill, knockup, AOE silence)

Jungle tanks
Amumu (Mass CC, Skillshot stun)
Nunu (Mass slow, Repeatable slow)
Cho'Gath (See top)
Nautilus (Snare, Unique displacement skill, stun + knockup, slow)
Rammus (Taunt, knockback)

Most tanky champs already work to the benefit of their team of being good off-tanks. The pure tank viables are here though.

Hope it helps :)

Hope whatever I say helps! :D

PS : Not all my criticism is good. Most of the time, I just talk like that anyway. So forgive me if you get offended, unless you just can't look from my angle, or at least close enough.
