Malphite as a bruiser is fine, but not a first choice. One of the things I like about Malph (besides that he's rock solid) is that he can be played AP, AP tank, Tanky Derps, Tank, DPS, even support a little bit. He builds what he pleases (Mundo can't, he doesn't have mana.) and ROCKS EVERYONE'S WORLD! YEEEEEEEEAAAHH METALLICA!

Sure I would rather have a bruiser Lee Sin on my team than bruiser Malph, but that doesn't mean I WOULDN'T want a bruiser Malph. He can definitely pull it off.

I suppose you could build AP on malphite, he's got decent scaling, he could probably work as tanky DPS if you focus on armor instead of health. Sunfire cape or thornmail, atma's, frozen mallet or triforce, frozen heart or randuin's, maybe even tiamat since it synergizes with his w.

Anything past trinity seems to be not very worth it. I've tried him and I've been dissatisfied with the results.
He comes out feeling like a really bad Lee Sin in every way when you do it.
Then again. He always feels like that.
I think the only way to play Malfee is armor stack / CDR vrs team with lots of AD.

i tried DPS malphite in a bot game and it worked well enough. Zerker greaves > Sunfire > Phage > Atma's > Frozen heart > Frozen Mallet
