Yes you may get lucky or unlucky, but over the course of the game it would be 1/5.

Well, strictly, the chances that you dodge at least one of those five attacks is 1-(4/5)^5 =~ 67.232%. That is to say, it's more likely than not that you'll dodge at least one out of every five attacks.

DR = dodge in terms of expected value, in every case where both apply, period (do the math on it, it's fairly simply to prove rigorously for any dodge chance). So, because 12% is clearly higher than 10% and because dodge applies in more cases than this DR (such as against tower attacks), the old Tabi were clearly better.
