no. the way the game mechanics work is that it calculates if you hit/miss before calculating if you crit. they are 2 totally unrelated calculations (as it simply treats dodge/misses like they never happened)

But you still dodged the attack that could/would have critted. Given that AD carries will have at least about 50% Crit Chance by mid/late game, it becomes very common for them to crit you.
If anything, dodge was better against crits than DR.

if you had 20% dodge chance and the enemy has 50% crit chance, they will crit you on 40% of their attacks.
not because you are dodging 10% of their crits, but because all missed attacks (20%) are not calculated when rolling crits. (so 50% of 80% is 40%)
it just looks like it does anything vs crits.

Guys, why are we arguing about crit? It's completely unrelated to dodge. Crit increases the expected damage of a hit (even though hits will always be either above or below the expected number), and dodge decreases it (though, again, hits will always be either above the expected number or zero). They both work through percentages. They stack multiplicatively. It doesn't matter which you calculate first, it comes out the same. So, no, dodge is not better against crits, nor is DR. They're the same (over a large number of hits).

the new ninja tabi reduce damage from crits, while the old ones ignored crits completely.
im not saying that if you didnt dodge the attack that it couldnt end up being a crit, but dodge was a stupid mechanic to rely on (because while crits are rng you can actually rely on them.)

This would be true if dodge chance was entirely random, but it wasn't.
Even ignoring the dodge vs DR stuff, 12% chance to dodge = 12% damage reduction from AA over the course of a game.
lolno
12% chance to dodge = 12% chance to dodge one attack, not all attacks for the entire game.
the new tabi applies to all attacks as soon as you get it, so you could say there's a 10% AA reduction to all attacks from that point on.

...What? That statement doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.
Like, I give up. None of you seem to understand basic mathematics.

except that you know dodge doesnt affect crits.
