Toxic Peeps

Look. I've played support many times, and one time, even got told that I shouldn't touch the minions, having the Face of the Mountain in my inventory, fully charged. A great Caitlyn, by the way. 10/10. Anyways. I did touch some of 'em, because, you know, supports have really big gold problems, and then got threatened with her going afk, because it seems that the capacity to understand wasn't her forte.

Long story short,
What should I even do? Just perform incredibly worse because if not, then I'd be making our Attack Damage Carry afk, or just don't care about it and become the Bottom Lane, all by myself?

Just mute people like that and play like you normally do. You might get an afk every once in a while and it won't be your fault. A lot of people are all talk though, and won't actually follow through on their threats if you just ignore them.

In your case the Caitlyn was dumb. However, sometimes I want to slow push, just freeze or keep an even number of minions, so the wave won't push towards the enemey. The cases I'd love to see my support to auto attaack the wave are: 1.) We got a kill, so we need to push the wave into the turret if possible. 2.) My wave clear is weaker compared to my enemy, so I need help to counter push or else I will lose CS under the turret. 3.) We are ahead and can push the enemy under the turret and harass them under the turret (long range champs). However, that's when the wave was pushing towards the enemy turret anyway and the jungler is far away or warded.

Were you serious when you said the Caitlyn was "great"? Because there are some cases where you would want to avoid constantly farming minions (i.e. freezing a lane). If you don't know what freezing a lane is then you might want to google/ask for it, because it's probably why the cait was asking for in her own toxic manner.

Back on the question, you can always ask why they're asking you to do that. Some might give some useful information, even if it's within insults. In the particular case of "not hitting minions", it's not actually a terrible recommendation. You should just lasthit them as low on health as possible if they ask you that.

Oh, right, I got confused by your saying that she was good and didn't know if it was sarcastic.

If that's the case then by all means ignore it as PsiGuard said.

Oh, no. She just thought I was stealing her farm. Probably disabled the gold pop-up. She wasn't really good. But, in anyway, you gave me something to think about now. Thanks.

I mean, we were 3 minutes in and she already told me to stop hitting minions.

It's okay to kill the cannon minions once every few waves. I get pinged but I ignore. The new mastery skill with the extra one gold helps a lot. I personally wouldn't take Face of the mountain. Sure it has a shield but that means one less slot available because now you need another warding item.

If you had Face of the Mountain and your ADC won't let you hit the minions, instead of just keeping Face of the Mountain and wasting its useful passive with the gold, you should just build into another item. If you were playing a tank support, you could get Talisman of Ascension, since its movement speed is great for good engages. Instead of fighting your ADC, just build into another item that doesn't need you to auto your ADC's minions.

It's not a really good idea to sell your gold generation item though. It would throw you way back in gold on a position that's very lacking on resources. Swapping your gold-generating item will make you lose your lane matchup if it's a though one.

It's a better idea to either talk it out or plainly ignore the complaints.
