Views: 985 The drastic difference of ADC and jungler/top...
|
Well, as I play League of Legends, I suddenly found myself becoming quite bored playing my typical and best role: Jungler. I also play Solo Top and Mid as secondary choices. But even playing those roles leaves me unfulfilled. I started Jungling with champions I don't usually use, like
Lee Sin,
Hecarim,
Rengar, and more, as I favor others like
Shaco and
Kha'Zix.
What was I to do? Finally, during a solo queue, no one wanted to be the AD Carry, and after calling Jungle and almost locking in
Kha'Zix, I thought to myself "I never ADC...." So I decided to do so. I played
Graves if I ever did ADC because of his
True Grit passive to make him a tad tankier than most other Carries. However, I have always had a soft spot for
Vayne. So I decided to play her. And did AWFUL.
I didn't know what I was doing wrong! I was rushing
Infinity Edge, maxing her
Silver Bolts first, focusing on farm, trying to deal as much damage as possible in team fights. What was wrong?!
Well... after reading Jhoijhoi's guide for
Vayne (BTW, LOVE that guide!) I learned that
Bloodthirster WAY before
Infinity Edge, and max
Tumble before
Silver Bolts. And on a more personal note, I learned a huge deal about the game of League of Legends as I played as an ADC...
Playing as a Jungler or a Bruiser, you can kind of go at your own pace, relying ultimately on your own skills. However, as an AD Carry, you rely on your team as a whole. You rely on your support during the laning phase to protect you and set up your kills. You rely on your AP Mid and Jungler to bail you out of a pushed lane. Your team relies on your damage, but you rely on your team to protect you. I also learned how hard you can be punished for being out of position.... -_-
Sorry for the long post, but, it's interesting how playing an ADC can change your view of the game... And I'll have you all know, after more than 10 games, I've become a pretty strong AD Carry! Thanks for reading and commenting! :)
