Views: 2136 Yorick Rework

I have heard of a change/rework on
Yorick being done by Xelnath who is also working on
Xerath. An article on league wiki stated "Based on analytics,
Yorick will win the lane but more often than not: lose the game." (LeagueWiki) So he is being reworked in a style that controls the ghouls instead of having a lack of control. From what I have seen from his 4 different proposed styles I believe these abilities should be chosen.
His Q IMO could be interesting if they do the version 3 shovel sweep
"Yorick cleaves all enemies around him, dealing physical damage. If this ability kills a unit, a ghoul will spawn from the corpse."
If this makes his Q an aoe spell it might allow for a better teamfight potential as his current Q is a single target proc that can be difficult to land if you aren't in melee range. This ability also forces
Yorick to farm to use the ability and will take precision to master when a minions health is low enough.
I think changing his
Omen of Pestilence to Version 1a's
Omen of Pestilence might benefit
Yorick's damage
"ACTIVE: Yorick creates an explosion at the target location, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies for 1.5 seconds. If Stinky is alive, he will erupt from the explosion and gain an aura for 5 seconds that deals magic damage per second and slows nearby enemies.
STINKY, THE DECAYING GHOUL - PASSIVE: While Stinky is alive, your attack damage is increased by 25%."
The only thing I find distrubing about this is naming the ghouls and giving them a special passive. This style of commanding a unit can be very difficult to master as it requires looking after a second unit in a sense or can even lead to commanding 3 ghouls which may overwhelm players and make certain abilities less useful.
Version 2's E IMO should be chosen.
"ACTIVE: Yorick's ghouls rush towards a target location, dealing (+AD) physical damage to all enemies struck along the way and marking them for 5 seconds. Yorick's basic attacks against marked targets will restore health equal to 100% of the damage dealt."
This requires
Yorick players to be careful as they can push the lane maybe too hard with this. It allows for a form of harass besides the current W and E, I think changing
Yorick should keep some of the original aspects or him such as his harass potential.
Now here is where I find myself face palming and asking myself what is he/she doing? They plan to change
Yorick's ultimate into one of these four:
Version 3's
"Yorick opens a grave in the earth, instantly summoning 10 ghouls at the target location. While the ghouls are active, Yorick can re-activate The Endless March to command the army."
Version 2's
"ACTIVE: Yorick opens a grave in the earth, reviving all of Yorick's ghouls and summoning an army of 20 wretched spirits over 6 seconds. You can cast The Endless March again to command the army to attack a location or unit. The spirits has 100 health, deal X damage and last 20 seconds."
Version 1a's
"Yorick instantly revives all his ghouls. The cooldown of Triple Team is reduced for each ghoul that was alive on-cast.
ACTIVE - ENEMY CAST: Yorick ghouls rush the target, stunning the target for 2 seconds. The ghouls activate their secondary effects: Inky grants Yorick movement speed, Stinky gains his aura and Munch deals physical damage.
ACTIVE - ALLY CAST: Yorick's ghouls protect the target ally, redirecting 50% of all damage taken to themselves and granting the target the ghoul's passive effects for 20 seconds."
Version 1b's
"ACTIVE: Yorick instantly revives all of his ghouls. Yorick channels for 5 seconds, summoning 100,000 wretched spirits. Wretched spirits will follow his cursor and explode on hitting an enemy, dealing 3 damage. Wretched spirits have 100 health. (Numbers are obviously placeholder.)"
I feel they should keep his ultimate as is. A commentor said,
"You say that Yorick's ult runs out 19/20 times it is cast, but hey, if you are a good Yorick, and actual good Yorick player, you won't be casting this on yourself but on ADC, seriously, this works wonders with Vayne and other stacking champions. Less attached to? it is actually the best utility skill Yorick has and as far as I could go, only Zilean is better... But hey! Zilean provides no clone or fighting bud other than the revive, and I think Omen of Death needs to stay, casting this on AD just greatly increases his damage output and overall perfomance even in case he is focused." (Axtrosz)
I feel these changes will do the gravedigger some good. Please leave your comments/suggestions.
