Sup dudes and girldudes.
So I recently played a Kayle game, were I originally thought I was going mid, but ended up top. I was up against Kha'Zix, and it went horrible. Two kills later he went away roaming. I kept on farming refusing to participate in fights. I looked at the scoreboard and I was then the most farmed player with a good level advantage aswell. So, I decided to join my friends again, who had lost around five fights by now, and we stomped em. I went from 0/2 to 8/2 in just a few fights. We completely turned the tables and won the game on 30 mins.
So my question to you, is it okay to not participate in fights if you're trying to build up an advantage?

Kayle snowballs greatly from cs. Like anyone, but Kayle just goes one step further.
In most cases, the first team to group after the laning phase ends (a turret goes down) wins due to objective control and numbers advantage. I don't know how you guys came back after losing five teamfights. They must have threw pretty hard or not capitalized on objectives like turrets and dragons, or taking your buffs, but hey, league of throws.
To answer your question, only roam when you can secure a kill. If you cannot secure a kill you are wasting time that you could have used farming to get stronger. As top-lane, this is very important as you're practically Australia compared to the rest of the map. That
When you're ahead, you have two options:
1. Keep your lead by denying your opponent (staying in lane and keeping the freezing the lane to extend the laning phase. You still win your lane and keep your opponent behind at the cost of snowballing other lanes).
2. Go roaming to snowball other lanes (less reliable method as you cannot always secure kills, and therefore lose time and cs. AKA - high risk, high reward).
