The most recent patch has brought out a bit of frustration when it comes to Orianna and the changes being made to her. Below is a copy of a comment I posted in the patch notes for Hecarim:

"Someone asked me about this so called "Buff" about a week ago... I however decided to call it a modification due to the fact that there is no actual increase in performance.

Instead of changing something so trivial and pointless why don't they fix something that can actually be useful?

Did you guys know that as Orianna, if you cast Command: Protect on an ally, and that ally dies, the ball is returned to Orianna whether or not the ally died within the ball's leash range? This bug has made me have to decide specifically to NOT shield a teammate in turmoil because I decided that he was likely to die even with my assistance, and instead cast Command: Attack to his location so that I could safely follow it up with my ultimate instead of risking a failed ultimate due to my teammate dying and returning the ball to me. I should however to be able to make the attempt to save my teammates life by casting a shield on him... This brings forth the question: Why isn't the ball just dropped if the ally dies? The fact that it doesn't makes absolutely no sense to me...

The "Drop" capability exists since if you use quicksilver sash or have morgana's spell shield then Fizz's Chum in the Waters fish simply drops to the ground. Why can't the ball do this?

I don't even consider this request to be a buff, I consider it to be a bug fix. Perhaps it hasn't been addressed because few people play Orianna, and even fewer are put in situations where this would be noticed but I have and I find it extremely annoying.

Issues like this are what need to be changed with Orianna, not late game mana costs by such a negligible amount that not even the most seasoned Orianna player will notice..."

I get it, technically this was a choice and you might not classify it as a bug, but it makes absolutely no sense. There isn't a single other situation in which the ball simply returns to Orianna without her leaving its leash range. That leash range and her commands should be the only factors that have any effect on the location of the ball.
