Someone like a tanky Renekton is a good choice as a dmg dealing initiator.

Mordekaiser isnt an exceptional good champ when it comes down to a 1on1, he grind down his opponent over time using the enemy creep wave to sustain his health.
Knowing that, your opponent can easily use it against you.

You still deal massive dmg and heal your complete team beyond imagination as the one who enters first/second without recieving an instant CC+nuke death against teams knowing what Sion's capable of."
