"Red buff gives your auto-attacks a slowing effect and true damage over time; the slow is reduced for ranged champions. Blue buff gives you 10% CDR and bonus mana or energy regeneration; it does not affect Fury or Ferocity."

"Basic Riot balancing strategy. They don't want tanks to build as bruisers, so they give the tanks low AP ratios; it's harder to build as an AP bruiser than an AD bruiser, and unless they have an auto-attack modifier like Cho'Gath, they have less damage output.

"A crit mark on a ranged AD? Sure, why not.
Crit mark on melee AD? Not that good. You won't be able to attack your lane opponent as safely as a ranged champion would, so the crit mark isn't that good."
