"Yeah Nick, you're right about Hextech being a fine item for Sion.
In fact he uses gunblade and rageblade fairly well, it's pretty good mid game but falls off a bit end game.
I'd still prefer a tanky build with Trinity and Infinity edge however.

"Dragon is a trick but if you but wit's end into razor's then you'll have the nice proc to take it down, MR and armor that work nicely with the passive HP on the ult, and you can just buy a GA after it to top it all off. "

Cau is right, you can certainly build a philo as well, I find myself doing that often.
More than the HP, it allows you have your shiled ready more frequently, which can be equated to hundreds of hitpoint"
