"I'm not super excited for the system but since it doesn't take away from what we have and it might eventually give some benefits to content creators (even if marginal) I'm totally OK with it. It would be cool that content creators could get some revenue off their work, but IMO that's asking too much"

Yes you can. Your MMR must be around Silver V for it to happen though (you have to lose a lot of games). You won't decay though, so if you don't play ranked at all until the end of season you will...
