Damn. Just damn.
Very overdue on my end, I've actually been hovering around the MMR for a while now and until recently had zero motivation to actually queue up for ranked. So glad I finally did.
AMAs are pretty lame, but the high ELO ones seem to be received pretty well - so AMA League of Legends related and I'll do my best to answer your question in detail!

possible unconvential support picks?
Anything that can Flash engage can function as a support. Annie is no longer considered unconventional, but in the same vein champions like Cassiopeia, Pantheon, and Ahri could possibly be really strong in lane and snowball an early lead into mid-game with the damage in their kit and potential as initiators.
When looking at a champion to play as support, you need to keep in mind that it's your job to dominate the map with vision and ensure that your team has the control they need to generate picks and secure objectives. You're naturally going to be pretty gold starved as a consequence, so look for abilities that function without any item requirement and can keep you useful while the vast majority of your income goes towards Sight Wards and Oracle's Elixir.
Second, who is your favorite champion to play?
Elise is my favorite champion overall. I started playing close to her release and thought her design and kit were really unique and viable, leading me to look to her as a slam pick if the jungle is available and she isn't banned.
I play a very aggressive style of jungling with an emphasis on efficiency and objectives. I like to think my knowledge of game state and where to position myself is one of my best traits, and my goal in solo queue is to cut as many losses as possible while not letting any gold go to waste. Elise tends to be pretty amazing at all of the above and has a high ceiling for outplay potential inherent in her kit.
2. what if you don't get jungle?
I'm not a one trick pony by any means, but definitely prefer jungling in solo queue over anything else for the control I have over game flow and my ability to show off mechanics in frequent skirmishes with champions I enjoy playing ( Elise, Nocturne, Vi). If jungle is taken or called, I simply fill whatever is needed and have plenty of other champions up my sleeve to bust out if it's required.
Right now, my go-to's in roles outside of the jungle are:
Top: Nasus, Renekton, Rumble
Mid: Zed, Orianna, Gragas
ADC: Corki, Twitch
Support: Thresh, Zyra, Sona, Blitzcrank (depends on the matchup, I'm comfortable on all supports)
I like to think my champion pool is pretty deep, so it's really just dependent on what they have and what our team is trying to accomplish.
Getting D1 is a big deal, congratulations. Being in the top 2,000 NA is a huge accomplishment and it should be recognized as such. Keep it up!

Most common top lane picks you see in your games?
Riven, Tryndamere, and Jax are extremely common picks that are almost ban worthy depending on who you're queueing into. Split pushing and outplaying your lane opponent in a 1v1 is very popular and consequently easy to exploit as someone who prefers to jungle over anything else. ;)
It's a stark contrast to the more team-fighting oriented picks you'll see in lower ELO like Malphite or Shen. These champions almost never get banned and rarely picked due to the coordination required to properly execute them. They also naturally lose lane, so there's that too.
How old are you? :o
I'm 22 years old.
I did not read any other question here.. In fact I only saw the Destiny part.
I gratulate you on that even more!
The jellyness... is big D:
Grats on reaching D1! :)
