Stacking your Dash

Stacking your dash is a great tool for increasing your DPS. To do this dash enemies until you have 4 stacks then proceed to dash the enemy you want to damage the most. Each stack increases the damage that the next dash deals by 25% capping at 4 stacks (100%). This helps you work around the single target higher cooldown while manipulating the lower .X cooldown to amplify your damage

Engaging fights Long Range

You can stack your steel tempest on near by creeps. Doing this allows you to charge your tempest prior to being in the midst of battle. After you gain your stacks you want to fire your whirlwind then ultimate a large group or single out an important carry through this method. This increases the chance you have to actually be active in a fight. Without having to dash in and risk being locked up.

Using Alternative knock ups to Ultimate

Last Breath does not need to be triggered by the steel tempest knock up. By placing yourself in a team with Knock ups you can choose to engage via them. However using Last Breath removes all your steel tempest stacks so that you may not knock up a team by yourself after last breath has been used. Any Character with a knock up can trigger Yasuo's ability to use his Ultimate

Securing Dragon/Baron

Yasuo's Early critical strike enables him to tear through objective monsters pretty quickly once he gains decent items. Keep in mind that you want your smite to be ready. A trick I like to use is to pace your steel tempest strikes so that your knock up is available to stop enemies who are attempting to get in range to steal. Since it is a projectile and smite cannot be interrupted you want to make sure you prevent them from getting into range to smite by sending them a ranged knock up.

Doing the most in team fights

Yasuo is a great source of team fight control and damage as a result you do not want to be the primary engage. Using Last breath as a fight opener without any back up or follow up can quickly end in you being removed via death and unable to take full advantage of your auto attack potential. To fix this have a secondary follow up and a primary engage. This will enable you to safely prep your steel tempest knock up, then allow you to ultimate and get out via the secondary follow up after last breath. Do not fear singling out a target with last breath as long as it's vital to remove them from play.

Tips and Tricks

Dash Escapes

By targeting an enemy near a wall with a close range dash it is possible to overshoot the dash and end up on the opposite side of the wall. This is a great method of escaping from enemies while near walls. It can also be used to exit the Jungle when in danger. Becareful not to accidentally do this as it can make you lose a kill or end up having to walk all the way around to finish your jungle. You can also dash directly to enemies through a wall.

Attacking in Motion

As Yasuo whenever you are dueling or fighting an Opponent you want to keep moving. This enables you to build focus in between auto attacks thus potentially procing your shield earlier. You should do this against jungle creeps and enemies through all stages of the game.
