That's why you also have Teleport. And the use of Gate lets you take advantage of an enemy breaking away from their team and changing the tide into a 5v4 situation.
If your allies (grouped up) spot at enemy break off to the fog of war, that's the time to initiate a 4v4 fight.

Heimerdinger is easier to play in Dominion as the map emphasizes so much on pushing. Minions are still prevalent, as they can help you capture points.
You can defend a lane well by clearing enemy minions and consequently, slowly neutralize an enemy point while protecting your own.
