Trynd works pretty well as a counter to him. Irelia does alright.
Also, an unconventional top like Vayne or Kog would ruin his day. Just have to have good awareness so you don't get ganked."

"When I premade with a buddy of mine, I sometimes grab Garen when he plays Caitlyn and he goes solo top Caitlyn and I go support/Garen bot lane. If you get teamed with a Taric or Alistar it's especially brutal"
