Is the game fun for you? Was it ever? Did it stop being fun at some point? Is it an addiction? I had a bad experience lately where the game just felt entirely negative; however I have come out the other side.
I downloaded League on 25th June 2018. As a 32 year old female, with no immediate plans to play ranked, I know I am not the typical 'target' audience. On the whole, I have been enjoying myself however my over-analytical empathetic brain has been wandering the rift asking questions such as why do people play? does it make them happy? are these games an important social interaction platform? what makes some people take the game so seriously? do people even forget this is a game? Why would someone int, flame or feed?
Positive Experiences
Sub-optimal aspects
tl;dr I recently was overcome by negativity about the game, but sitting down and thinking about it there are many positive aspects

Positive Experiences
- A small number of people have offered me advice that has helped me improve my gameplay
- An even smaller number have taken the time to 'instruct' me
- I have made 'friends' and felt a sense of community and cooperation
- The infinite number of possible combinations of champs, roles, items, runes is really keeping me interested
Sub-optimal aspects
- I have been flamed, and let it upset me (the reason for the flaming isn't as interesting to me as the reasons people flame and how people react)
- I have played badly, and felt like a terrible human being
- I am struggling with the sheer volume of information required to play this game well
- My life balance/priorities have been suffering perhaps due to the game...perhaps not

I mainly got diamond because I played a lot with people who were as good or better than me, so I improved a lot even if I was just playing normal games. Nowadays I have less time to play so I don't play solo queue as much anymore.
The game itself can be fun but I only enjoy games where my team at least has a fighting chance of winning, which sometimes isn't the case. I'm kind of a tryhard so I have trouble enjoying games that I lose. It's too bad Clash isn't out yet because that's pretty much my ideal environment.
I think people enjoy competitive PvP experiences for their own sake (the actual competition and self-improvement rather than any social component) are a better fit for League, at least when it comes to solo queue. Unfortunately a lot of those people would really be better off in a 1v1 game like StarCraft 2 since they don't like relying on teamwork.
I would recommend muting any players that speak negatively in chat, even if it isn't outright flaming yet. The game chat isn't very useful for coordinating and is rarely used productively. You can work as a team just using pings. As a jungle main I get flamed a lot by people who think they know better than me and it can be distracting, so I often play with a lot of my team muted, haha.
I feel pretty **** when I play poorly as well, but I try and remember that even the best players in the world have had games where they go 0-10. It's hard to take losses and bad games in stride but it's a part of everyone's league experience.
As for learning all the aspects of the game, it just takes time and practice. A lot of League players have been around for years and they didn't know what they were doing when they started either. You've only been playing for a few months so it's gonna take time for you to catch up to some of the people you're playing with and against. If you have a good mindset about learning and aren't afraid to do research or learn from better players, you'll probably improve faster than most people who play this game with a stubborn mindset.
