"Yep, you generally can't rely on someone else buying it though.
Even if they do, it's technically still very gold efficient because the base stats still apply and the aura doubles up on yourself and the other guy with aegis."

"Aegis will make a big difference in a teamfight. It's one of the most gold efficient items in game, and gives a frankly absurd amount of stats to your team. IMO it's one of the best items in the game and should be a permanent buy every game you play for one person on your team."
