"I would definitely go cheap if it's your first tablet. Actually buying a used Intuos3 would be good since some people actually prefer them to Intuos4. Otherwise my first tablet was a Bamboo and I used that for quite a while, still works but I upgraded to a large Intuos4 recently. :)
