Well I thought a blog would be cool to do as I am in a unique situation and I though it would be somewhat interesting to share my story with the community. On top of that I would love comments that would help me be an overall better player. I started playing in 3 years ago with my students and did marginally well. Got to level 11 and then life just took off and I stopped playing. I was a Caitlyn Main and did decently. I didn't lose the games for my team but I certainly didn't win any for them either. I was like a 3/4/3 line generally.
Take it all the way to Mid March this year. I was working and came across an article on eSports and a new app by TheScore. I read it and nearly fell off my chair. What an insane run this community has been on since I left. I looked at the competitive scene and though to myself: "I need to be a part of this again".
So I downloaded the game back on my laptop, bought a mouse (I play a lot of console games lol) and got back on the rift. The amount of resources and support the game has in its current state is incredible. I've just got immersed in the world and I've noticed it's taken up most of my time in the last month. I've read countless articles on the current meta and have come along nicely. I've picked up three new champions that I am decent with (Rammus, Hecarim, Vladimir). I enjoy learning the game and find it as rewarding to win and go on a nice run as it is to see a really good team beat me (you learn a ton more but losing). I have so much more to learn and I'll be blogging about my struggles and triumphs.
I've found this site so incredibly informative as it really has helped me get back into the game. Amazing builds and helpful articles. I have also enjoyed the boards although I've never posted anything on there. I hope to start getting into them soon.
The moment I discovered the pro leagues I was hooked. I find myself watching streams from around the world and I still cannot believe the production value and support behind it. I particularly enjoy the EU league (Did you see the Unicorns of Love vs. SK Series? Amazing). My friends at work are so confused by my iCal as there are reminders of games all over it.
My Goal is to get to 30 by the end of the month (I've got about 11 levels done in three weeks, level 22 now) and to try and start the climb into competitive. Building a good friends list and see where it takes me.
I'm always up for a chat about the game or some tips to improve. I hope you will find this blog interesting and helpful to some of the newer players as well.
