Hey! I'm Nicole, ******* it i have no idea how to start off a blog about league of legends and i'm pretty sure my grammar will be ****. But heck- I'll do it anyways.
Ok, i reached the point where i promised myself ill do something to share the information i got at the past year and a half since i started playing this game, Then i saw mobafire and told myself "yeah lets make a tiny blog". I started playing ranked at season 4 and after the matchmaking games i found myself at silver 2. i dropped to silver V after playing a few game (at that time i think i mained orianna mid). After stopping to blame my team for my loses and my ****py mmr (i was at the point where i was matched with bronze V) i started climbing. got gold V- was stuck there a bit and then climbed to plat. somewhere at plat i guess i wasnt good enough- i started tilting and dropped back to gold. that happened in about 500 ranked games.
at the current season i reached from silver 4 to plat 3 at about 200 games and i keep climbing quickly- i want to share some tips that helped my climb in several posts. At the moment i main 3 different roles: mid top and support. with those champions : Nidalee, Irelia and Nami.
1. Improve your mechanics- last hitting and the ability to kite together with performing good flashes and smites are important so you'll be able to outplay your enemies.
CS gain you huge lead. i know that trying to kill your laner is more tempting then boringly hitting low health mindless creatures that walk in your lane but when you gain the huge gold advantage those minions give you can also kill your enemy and push your advantage even more. The better kiter will mostly outplay the other one. knowing how and when to smite can be the diereses between a win and a lose and missing your flash is as flat as embarrassing. The better your mechanics the most likely you'll win.
2. Embrace death and defeat- When the ignite ticks on you don't flash- wasting your summoners for that brief chance you'll stay alive puts you behind. When youre getting caught by four of your enemies dont try to run if your'e surrounded- try to take what you can- a kill or a tower. DONT LET YOUR DEATH BE IN VANE. I know how frustrating it can be when you get a dc or a troll- but the odds are in your favor. assuming you wont troll there are higher chances for the enemy team to get a troll and not for you, try your best 4v5s are winnable especially when the enemies get cocky knowing you "dont have a chance"- there are more likely to make fatal mistakes. Don't blame your team- there's always something you could do to win.
3. Push your advantage - Getting a kill in lane or at least pushing your laner out of lane is all nice. But it wont get you a huge advantage- of course- you have more chances killing him again and getting a bit more gold. but thats it. after your laner dies or leaves the lane push the lane without risk (meaning without low hp or when you know where the enemy jungler is)- it denies your laners exp when he backs and resets the lane. second- if you have fairly high hp go scout at the enemies jungler- if youre a trappy champion put some traps- put a trinket and try to catch the jungler unprepared- you may get a kill or a buff. If youre at botlane or midlane and you got a kill or you saw the enemy jungler just dived top and your jungler is around call for drag- push towers. going 8\1 on your opponent is worthless if your team wont enjoy your dmg- go, get a tower, roam, your enemy is now worthless anyways.
4. Vision- teach yourself to look at the map between cs. you may try put a timer next to you that vibrates every ten second to remind you to look at the map. After a while it will become a habit to look at the minimap alot. I KNOW A LOT OF TIPS TELL YOU TO BUY WARDS BUT WARDS ARE USELESS IF YOU DONT LOOK AT THE MINIMAP TO SEE WHO ACTUALLY WALKS NEXT TO THEM. Buy wards even if youre not a support. buy a sweeper- it will help you clear vision for your jungler to gank and help you to clear vision when you roam to other lanes or take objectives- vision and catching off guard using wards win games.
5. Attitude- every game is a new game even if you lose the last 39431478197481839948337482497 games- dont let a bad game to let you down and dont let your depression get to your teammates. Good attitude and being positive gives the impression of a light and fun game. Dont use your chat talk. you can tell some jokes before the minions spawn but dont use the chat unless its game related (something like :" lets trap next to baron" or "bar in 50"). Its not only prevents you from doing your best it also bothers your team. Use the mute bottom when being flamed. try to cheer up losing teamates- it gives them hope. tell them youll roam. offer them to stay under tower. Flame and rage never wins games. no one preforms better if you wish their family cancer.
