Views: 508 Thoughts on ELO Climbing

Now I've been in Gold for about a year now and for the last year I realise that the most assured method to win your games is to simply carry your games regardless of what roles you play except of Support of course, but back in year 2012 I went up to Gold 5 and back to Silver 5 just to prove my point and ultimately as much as it disgust me, and I cannot deny that climbing takes a little bit of luck, but I'm not talking about an AFK or a Troll or an Unskilled player, I'm looking at it as an overall team fight perspective, because most of the time We do not win our games simply because of poor conquest in objectives or map control and that's when I realise that by simply saying "Carry your team" is very shallow-minded. LoL is clearly more than just that.
I started out in Bronze 5 last year 2013 Season 4, my first game was with a Vi in the Jungle, I can remember it was a win game because I won like 10~20 games in a row and my match history for the entire week was just filled with wins. But don't get me wrong I'm not saying I'm Pro or anything but simply because I was in Bronze, so getting out of bronze should not even be a problem for the most players with a decent level of game sense.
Getting out of Silver was the problem.
I did say I had my crazy 10-20 win streak in a row. so most would think "You should have Hopped divisions how can it be hard?" Well that wasn't the hard part.
After I went to Gold 5 from the Win streak. It was fulfilling and I began losing my games, so that ended the reign, but not denying the getting out of Silver Tier is still difficult.
One day I decided to return to Silver to make my point, if Silver to Gold was truly luck.
I apologize to everyone in my game during my losing streak but it was for the best, I went back to Silver 5 [Apparently if you suck you really drop tier]
I decide to play a Support role on S5 0LP.
And within less than a week I Went back to Gold 5
Most people would ask for a photo proof... Maybe I'll make one this year but I know for a fact that you can win your games without carrying, and by simply Supporting your team and giving away vision which every single Silver 5 seems to have a problem with.
It's not about just simply putting a ward and saying "My Job is done" it's really about Map control which I'm going to talk about here.
I do not have a Ranked Game photo evidence for you. but This should be enough to make my point.

So what does a bunch of horrible players have in common? IGNORANCE!
By ignorance I do not mean stuffs like Item builds or Skill order or Wombo Line ups, I'm talking about Map awareness, because Good players can see through enemies movement without wards while bad players simply makes assumptions so here's where we come in.
By simply placing wards in typical Gank route by bad Junglers, you basically scored an extra point for your solomid, now the question left is "will he lose his lane?" if he does well that can't be helped so instead of worrying about the late game try finding a solution for your mid lane, maybe ward the mid before traveling to the bottom lane or you can full-time support the mid laner. presuming he is already at lv 6
*It is essential that you do not jump to conclusion too early, most of the time I give my Mid time beyond level 6 before I judge his lane control capabilities, only when you confirmed that he has lost his lane then you proceed to ward his lane or worst case scenario you full-time support the solomid lane*
The following can also apply to the Solo top
Wards are the key to omnipotence
Because they have poor visionary skills and horrible estimation you will want to first of all. "Give them a second fighting chance" HOW?
Here are the list of easy to use

How do we provide another fighting chance for your team?
Janna - Q,R - These are tools we use for disengaging what seems to be an unfair team fight
Janna - E - This is for your reckless ADC. use it wisely
Alistar - Q,W - These are by far one of the most broken CCs I've ever come across in the entire game with such low Cooldown.
Alistar - E,R - With these you should have no problems even if you are the kind of player to get caught 24/7
Taric - Q,W - Most people would assume Taric is played defensively but let's be honest, you never won a lane playing defensively right? Taric very much like Alistar has the ability to walk in and our of the fray
Taric - E - Let's say your team has a horrible Fiora/ Paper top underfarmed in the 20minute Teamfight, you are always ready to take over his/her duties and start the fight.
Taric - R - Picking Taric in the first place takes a lot of trust in Silver players to make good use of your buff, most of the time they will run upon your ultimate so I recommend using this only when the team fight breaks out.
Sona - Q,W,E - Very strong pokes if you are the typical AP Mid Kata player I recommend using Sona after all play style makes a very big impact in your lane performance
Sona - R - Can be used to disengage or used to make a beautiful 1 sided teamfight [Presuming you really wrecked your early game opponents]
Okay I'm tired I might continue my Lecture on a different date. -12/13/2014
