"I am conflicted on this "strategy". I've seen exactly one Singed performing a proxy during my ranked game, and while it did help(?) out our mid game, by late game their top laner was so fed that we quite handily carried that game by himself.

"Carrying the game is not necessary bound to a single lane (top).
You can carry games with support, as I have learned, such as Nami or Thresh, or Sona (all 3 my main supports).
The ease, however, varies depending on lane. Mid lane is generally considered the "easiest" to carry from.

"You could also mention that Captain enchantment works on minions as well, IIRC.
This way, it helps pushers as well, like the tanky ones, as well as supports in this aspect (indirectly)."
