"Except that Clarity literally gives you nothing useful. It gives you and allies mana. Simply not being wasteful with your mana nullifies the abilities' usefulness all together. Many champions don't even have mana, or use very little of it, making it even less useful

Yes, Clarity and revive do have a purpose. No one ever denied that. Riot has actually stated before though that Clarity is meant for low level players who have trouble managing their mana. Revive would actually be fine if it's cooldown wasn't a year."
