"Well, set the threshold too high and some useful but concise/brief blogs get washed out. I'm sure you can find exceptions all the time, let's run with 140 and see what happens. If it fails to adequately filter blogs it can be raised at any time. "

"Thanks for the affirmative response; since the limit can be tweaked easily after implementation, I'd say start with an experimental limit of 140 characters. If it fits in a tweet, it's probably not main-page material. "
