"I personally would use Lubuntu or Puppy Linux as a lightweight distro (puppy being ultra light and Lubuntu being normal light).
Vector uses Xfce like Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio.
I use Ubuntu on my old PC, not yet on my main PC."

"Vector Linux is Slackware based :O
I have little idea of what the good and bad things about VL is. You could mention some specifics in the distro thread.
Vector is using Xfce at the very least. I spotted that almost instantly :)"

Linux distros
I thought I'd post a thread about this to find and share any interesting ones.
I'm gonna focus on Ubuntu distros because Ubuntu has a software center, program repositories and will support Steam...

"It's gonna be a bit specific :P
I'm gonna focus on Ubuntu distros because:
They have the software center.
Steam will work without any tweaking (other distros might have to install new libraries, it could be a hastle)."

Ubuntu, but not on my main PC. I'm using it on my old PC by the TV. I've yet to try any other interfaces than Unity and GNOME Shell though. I wanna try some others like KDE, LXDE and Xfce."
