Varus is stronger as a poke champion but Jayce is more versatile, so while he's the weaker champion in their poke niche, there's a lot more you can do on him while Varus is just all poke and ult.

"The first one is the combo you use to sneak up on people through lane ganks, or just to catch up to them with the extra R move speed if they're running away from you.
The 2nd combo is the most basic Talon combo."
