"I think it does since the overheat attacks deal magic damage.
Also spell vamp is great on him, because, for instance, with flamethrower, although it does 1/3 healing PER TARGET, since you will be flamethrowing a large group of minions, you actually heal a lot..."

"It works like Zilean's thing I believe, where you have a little thing above/around you that lasts for some seconds and if you die during it you turn into a ghost and last x amount of seconds, but can get killed during it like Morde's ult."
