I don't even know what just happened.
I'm 1-1 in my promotion series and just dreading this final game. I just have the feeling that it will be exactly like my first promotion series in silver V. Both very easy first wins. Then a close loss, followed by a loss you can't control. The silver V series loss was because of 2 dc's. This loss was going to come because of a whining baby troll.
Right off the bat, this guy started begging in caps to play mid. He boasted he was undefeated in ranked as
Anivia (someone claimed to look him up and said it wasn't true). Once someone locked in Brand ahead of him, he started throwing a fit, threatening to feed. Then he started joking that ADC Anivia was op. Lo and behold, he locks in Anivia, with Smite and Clairvoyance as his summoner spells. I asked if anyone could dodge, to which this guy smirked, "NOT FROM ME". As the champion select screen gives way to the game loading screen, I'm thinking, god dammit, I'm going to have to work my way back to the series all over again.
We get to the game, and I think our entire team pretty much thinks it's a loss. Everyone says to report Anivia in all-to the other team. We're just kind of going through the motions. I start wondering if I should build ADC, DPS Taric. I "risk" it and start with a Long Sword. In my confusion about how I'm going to build, I forget health pots.
I get to lane very late, and already something seems to have gone wrong with the leash. I didn't catch what happened, but Lee Sin says, "..." and Anivia says, "Don't worry bro, I got your back", and I assume bad things have happened.
Then, I find myself at bot, alone. Anivia has decided that it would be a good idea to duo mid with Brand. As I get harassed by Nami and Quinn, I back into my turret and tell Lee Sin he's going to need to baby sit bot, there's no way I'm going to be able to hold them off alone. I'm not pro after all.
Brand finally gives in and comes bot for the sake of the team. By some stroke of luck, Quinn tries to dive me under my turret just as Brand arrives with full health and mana. Brand combos and kills. First Blood.
(Because I'm awesome, I go back and buy a Mana Manipulator for Brand. I'm weirdly proud of myself for doing that. Anyway...)
Then a funny thing happened. The enemy team just kept dying, over and over and over. Brand picked up several more kills. Lee Sin and Anivia double teamed Annie a couple times. Garen got Elise down. 4 man bot ganks. Before I knew it, we were up 7-0, 10-0, 19-1? What????
By the fifteen minute mark, we had taken down the inner bot turret and were knocking on the doors of their base. Shortly after, the other team surrendered.
And just like that, I've made it to Silver III. An hour later, my only thought is, "What the f*** just happened?"
My final build: Shard of True Ice, Tear of the Goddess, Long Sword, and Philosopher's Stone. Hybrid support/AD Taric?
