About This Team Comp

Heartsteel is the new Economy Trait in Set 10 and it is quite capable of winning a Lobby if you know how to abuse it. You always receive a cashout after 4 rounds of fielding Heartsteel and you can improve the cashout by killing units and/or losing fights. Running more Heartsteel will give you a multiplier to reach even better cashouts.

The best way to utilize Heartsteel is to play around Spatula. If you have an Emblem by Stage 3-5 you can craft a Heartsteel Emblem together with a Belt and set yourself up for a large Stage 4 Pivot. Push for Level 7 in Stage 4-1 and roll for any Heartsteel Chosen (Aphelios/Sett/Yone). Find Ezreal, give him Items and put the Heartsteel Emblem on Kaisa/Miss Fortune/Mordekaiser.

Since you always receive a cashout after 4 rounds, it's important that you DON'T run Heartsteel in Stage 3. You will end up losing HP with a weak board for a mediocre cashout and in the worst case delay your large cashout from 7 Heartsteel in Stage 4. Instead you want to run your strongest possible board in Stage 2/3 and stay high HP with a win streak. This way you can afford to take losses in Stage 4 and build towards a large cashout.

In late game you want to push towards Level 9 to add Kayn and Yorick. You can sell your Heartsteel Chosen in late game if you completed a Cashout and want to field stronger units to win against the final opponents. With Champion Duplicators you can also aim for Ezreal*3 as a win condition if you are uncontested.

SPATULA REQUIREMENT

This comp should only be attempted if you managed to find a Spatula until Stage 3-5. If you don't have a Spatula after this point, you should not go for this comp, since it's required to reach 7 Heartsteel in Stage 4 and build towards a large cashout.

stage 2 + 3

The thing about Heartsteel is that you DON'T want to run Heartsteel in the early Stages. Instead you want to have the strongest possible board and go for a win streak. If you manage to find a Spatula and a Belt available to build a Heartsteel Emblem you can collect Heartsteel units and ready yourself for the Stage 4 Pivot.

Stage 4

If you have the Heartsteel Emblem ready, then you want to be Level 7 in Stage 4-1. Roll for a HEARTSTEEL CHOSEN, it doesn't matter if its Aphelios, Sett or Yone. Find Ezreal, give him items and run Miss Fortune/Kaisa for Big Shot. It's important that you didn't activate Heartsteel in Stage 3, because now you can have 4 full fights with 7 Heartsteel and receive a very large cashout at the end of Stage 4.

Stage 5+

You want to continue running 7 Heartsteel to receive further cashouts that help you to win the lobby. Push towards Level 9 and Level 10. After finishing a late game cashout you can sell your Heartsteel Chosen and add a Legendary Chosen like Kayn/Yorick instead. It's also possible to run Chosen Ezreal and aim for a 3 Star Ezreal win condition if you received Champion Duplicators from the Cashout and are uncontested.

Alternative Item Builds

Ezreal has 40 mana, which makes him a great user for Blue Buff or double Shojin. It's also possible to only run a single Shojin, since it's easier to transition into Ezreal. Another option is to fully focus on damage items and add some sustain like Hand of Justice or Gunblade.
