About This Team Comp

Hello Everyone. I have been playing TFT to an extreme amount since launch, utilizing several accounts and theorycrafting ideal builds. I fell in love with the concept of Light units and their versatility against most of the other sought-after builds. This current iteration has me at a 75% success rate at placing in the top 4, and a 40% success rate of making it to the final 2 across 40+ games. I do not expect everyone to agree with the iterations, and of course Item+Champion RNG always has a huge factor in success rate. Make your best judgments and please, just enjoy the build if you wish to walk the path of light :) See you in the Arena!

Early game 

2nd Warden Spot is flexible. I take Nautilus or Thresh normally depending upon availability and natural good abilities. Warden gives front line some beef while allowing Vayne to do work from the back. You will lose most of your games early, so don't be afraid about the health loss. If you find some other early game composition that works (Woodland/Druid for example that requires only a few dedicated units to function), go ahead and toss them out while building up your reserve. Be conservative on gold, as this build powers up late game at the sacrifice of a weaker early build. DO NOTE, early Warden is insane at keeping your front line going and is highly underestimated. I've had games where Nasus and Thresh/Nautilus stand strong long enough for the other units to bore holes through their front line and eventually their backline. Thresh keeps this up for even longer with his lantern. Adapt to what the RNG shows you.

Mid game build #1 

You should be close to reaching the end of 6 Lights by this point. Try to grab for that 6th when possible, but understandably you may only have 4 or 5 by now. Try to keep your 2nd warden at 4/5 units unless you get the 6 Light option at your level 6. Lights excel with longer games, so you don't want your front line melting too quickly. This becomes exceptionally true when Yorick enters play and starts stacking your Vayne's AS to critical levels. Hold onto that juicy gold when possible but don't feel afraid to throw a bit of cash into hitting level 2 on units you have not yet reached it with if you have some to spare.

mid game build #2

6 Lights. Impressive. Try to position your units in a way where some of the weaker units can die off first to empower your better ones (Jax/Nasus are good candidates). Fish for a 2-Star Yorick if possible, as the additional units becoming ghouls empower your remaining units very quickly and keep the fight going when it should have been lost. Make your best judgment with your items in terms of "what are my opponents making? What shuts them out? Can I hyper carry my Vayne with RageBlade/Hurricane? Does my front line need to be even tankier?" and build appropriately.

end game build #1 

You finish with a 6 Light package, Warden & Mystic for survivability, and Yi provides an additional outlet for damage, especially in the beginning of the fight. If Yi hits 2-Star, you have 2 carries in the form of Yi and Vayne whom will stay behind a beefy frontline outputting stupidly high levels of damage. Long fights are your friend, as Yorick turns your units into stronger fodder for the others. A stacking 25% AS buff gets out of hand VERY quickly when dying units turn into ghouls, which fuel your other units even more. If you find your Yorick getting focused down early, change your positioning and/or give him defensive items as he is truly one of your key frontline units. From here, build items to extend the fight as long as you can if you've reached this point, you're more than likely already in the top 3-4 players. Good luck and enjoy the LP :)

end game build #2 (AKA Hydaelyn's chosen)

HOO BOY 9 LIGHTS OH BABY! (Props to those of you who have chosen the path of the Warrior of Light and have been blessed by Hydaelyn's RNG to reach this point). With 9 lights, your team gets such fast AS that abilities are constantly triggering, Vayne is destroying everything in sight, and you can sit back with that big ol' smirk knowing you did it. For your 2nd Warden, Malphite is an additional choice against players grouping their units as his ability will leave them open to your all-you-can-eat Champion buffet. As for your 9th Unit, take whatever you find appropriate. Nami is a fine choice and gives you Mystic+Ocean buffs with an extremely powerful ability. Master Yi works for the same reasons I've stated above, or you can toss in Ashe/Kindred/Twitch to give Vayne LUDICROUS attack speed (yes Machine Gun Vayne is possible and you will see it in action)
