Hello! This is my first guide on mobafire and I hope you will enjoy it!

I think Evelynn is a viable mid carry in normal games (Not ranked) and can carry quite well.
I also have her lovely shadow skin <3!

I am a swedish guy who has been playing league of legends for 2 years now and I'd like to share my amazing Evelynn experience with you.

Pros / Cons


She can:
Get away from ganks easily.
Kill an opponent in under 3 seconds.
Run around ganking and having total map control.
Fun to play!
Dominate and 1-shot everything if you get fed.


She can:
Be squishy and die very fast If you are playing badly and get stuck.
Be pretty hard to master. You need some practice to gank well, get away well and all that ****.(Think whatever you want but I have seen too many bad Eves)
Be total **** if you get underfed, fail your mid and all the ganks.
Countered by an oracle if you can't take the oracle holder down.

Marks: You have void staff in your build and you want a high burst in the game. After level 6 you get more ability power from leveling runes so you want them instead of the normal ability power ones.

Seals: Same here.

Glyphs: Same here.

Quintessence: Same here. Yes you want only ability power runes because it will make you so much powerful. You have void staff in your build now so you can get alooot of ability power runes. (Well only ability power runes xD)

If you are using viable items and are not planning using then you use these runes. But if you plan on using void staff then just nevermind this.

Marks: I am taking the Magic penetration marks because she's an ability power carry and needs the magic penetration! Smart right?

Seals: I take the ability power seals because she really needs that first blood at either level 5,7 or 9 in mid to carry the best. (Not taking the leveling one shere because you got so much magic penetration runes here so you need some more earlygame ability power.

Glyphs: She needs pretty much spell penetration because she doesn't have that void staff.

You need the magic penetration much if you don't have the void staff so yes, here is more magic penetration runes whoho! Finally one ability power rune because you don't want only magic penetration and you want to still be able to get a kill with that burst at level 5,7,9.

I really don't know what to say here. I just want to max out her dps as much as possible so you can rush in, pick someone up with your ravage and spam hatespike while using your ultimate malice and spite.

Skill Sequence

Shes happy because she killed someone with ravage! Whoho!

Before I go into detail I want to show you how I engage and kill someone.

until you get your and if they are not dead then just spam hate spike again. Even a tank should be dead after that second ravage. If you got deathfire grasp I would first engage with your ravage and then use your deathfire grasp. I know it isn't as effective but you can't engage with the deathfire grasp as It wouldn't give you the stealth slow. Still a very effective item though.

Okay some info about the abilities:

This is your spam ability. You spam it every single second to get your lich bane procs and to do more damage while you run hitting them with your ultimate on Doesn't do the greatest damage but it makes your lich bane proc so it's still beast!

This is how you engage and flee away. I don't really have to say more huh? It does a nice slow and if you use malice and spite and use this you can get out safe from almost all ganks if you're not getting cc'd and surrounded by atleast 3 opponents. But who doesn't get killed 1vs3?

This is how you kill people and make ap carries die before they even notice! Together with lich bane this makes you a beast! I engaged with this then did deathfire grasp, attacked with my lich bane proc and he died. This is what makes Evelynn such a wonderful assassin!

Makes you run fast to pick up kills and using your lich bane again and again on them! Also let's you escape ganks together with your heal and shadow walk very easily! A very good ultimate.

Early ravage: You need to get that first blood at level 5,7,9 to have a very big chance to dominate the game. That's why you go it as fast as you can.
Early stealth: You need to be stealthed for some time to not get detected by the wards they have at bot and top.(Not the stealth detection wards because people in normal games are too stupid to buy them. It's rare that they get one lol.)
Midgame Spikes: You shall now spamproc sheen/lich bane and it does even more damage if you max out your spikes now. So why not doing it? :)

I will just add my main build and if I get any suggestions I will add other viable items. I just think that these are the best items for Evelynn. If you believe otherwise then you have to leave a comment and tell me.

Recommended build:

You begin with this and a to be able to lane longer. You should also have over 75% hp when you try to get that first blood on level 5.

philosopher's stone You get this so you can lane forever and you get some extra gold! Sell when you are getting deathfire grasp/rylai's scepter at the end.

You need some earlygame speed to grab these and go out killing people ^^

Kage's lucky pick The gold per 10 seconds stack with Philosopher's stone and you will need this item later so why not grab it early for some more gold?

Now you finish your boots so you can gank and get fed! Whoho!

You will do alooooot more damage and when you spam mind spike it does even more damage. This is one badass item.

You slow them with your spam spike while you chase them and you get more survivability. What more can you ask for!? Evelynn should also have no mana problems but if you do, then get the blue buff. Why do I get this so early!? Well Lich Bane needs ability power to work while Sheen doesn't and you need that survivability pretty early in the game. Why not rod of ages? You don't need the mana and you want some more slow. I will add Rod of Ages to the viable items if you want it instead of Rylai though.

Same as Sheen but stronger. Needs ability power to work that's why I took it after Rylai.

Even the tanks will kneel before you now! Engage with ravage and then use this and spam the spike to get lich bane procs and everyone should die easily! You are now a perfect carry! Why this one before Rabadon? Well it's much cheaper to make when you got kage's lucky pick and that 30% damage is just sick!

You will just do even more sick damage! You will become a beast!

Now you finish the build with some magic penetration to be able to max out your damage! Now you are done and can get lovely stats such as the one I got on my match history that you can see in the bottom of the guide.

Good viable items:

Get this before Rylai if you are having a very good game, I had it in my main core before I updated it but everyone can have a bad game and that's why I removed it. It's not reliable in all games. Get this if you want to dominate ever more and you are already having a good game.

Get this instead of Rylai if you have mana problems. The health and ability power is pretty much the same as the Rylai. I don't recommend this because rod of ages doesn't have a slow but if you have mana issues then grab it.

You could get this if you have trouble staying alive. You should probably change Void staff for it if you really want it. Not recommended if you don't get superbursts on you.

If you want to survive easily you could also take this. But remember that it cost 40 magic penetration and 70 ability power from the void staff.

Not viable!

You don't need mana. You won't have alooot of mana so this won't be good at all. Don't buy this item.

Almost the same ability power as Void staff but you don't need the mana regen or the cooldown reduction because you only have short cooldowns and your ultimate resets when you get an assist.

Just no, you don't want to loose that lich bane. Trinity force gives attack damage,attack speed and crit. You don't need any of those. The slow is not needed because you have Rylai and Lich bane have more ability power + a better on hit effect.

Void staff is better in everything. You don't want this. Even if you could boost your other ability power champion if you have one, it's still not worth it.

You can also change the places of the Rylai's and Deathfire if you are meeting a tanky team. Keep that in mind. This is important to know. You can't try to slow tanks and play anti ap carry if you have to get the tanks down.

Summoner Spells

Recommended by the guide creator:

This will help you get the first blood so much easier and it will also save your *** in a lot of fights when you run away. Great summoner spell which is perfect for Evelynn.
You use this after your Ravage and they can't heal themselves and die in pain and agony realising that they failed their team.


If you need to pick up that newb running away then this is fine but I would prefer to stay alive or pick them off with the ignite and reduce their healing. Use this if you like it a lot. Not the best summoner spell for evelynn though. Evelynn also has a speed reduce with her stealth so I feel that this is a pretty bad summoner spell for Eve. But as I said, If you like it then take it.

You have your ultimate and you don't really need it. But if you really want to chase down that enemy with 100hp then take it. Your ultimate already fills that role though.

If you get stunned you can't really do anything except for doing heal and try to run away. I don't think you need this because the heal and ultimate to get away is enough for me and I don't die that often. But you can take it if you like to get away from those annoying stuns.

This won't help that much in my opinion, you can flash over some walls and survive sure. But you should already survive with your heal and ultimate so why even bother having a long cooldownd that won't help more?


No champion in the game should ever get this except for Karthus. You have reduced death time in your masteries and this is just a waste of a good heal that could save your life instead of using a revive that makes you live again because then you just give the enemy team gold. Also it has a 5 million years long cooldown. Not worth it.

I feel like this is a good boost of ability power but really? You want to waste that heal or ignite? Not worth it at all.

You are evelynn. You have boots of mobility. You don't need this..

YEEEES! LET'S GET SOME MANA! Ok seriously now, Eve should have no mana issues. If you are low on mana then get the blue buff.

No. I said no. This is ****. Compare this to an ignite. You want 1 more minion kill or 1 more champion kill hmmm?

Yey! Let's see a small piece of the map as a mid carry whohoho! No seriously, let the supports have it.
