OK so until a week or two ago I hadn't played in a year or so. So, I thought I would just see if they're still good and if not get some suggestions on who I could replace them with once I get another 10,000 IP haha. Below is who I have...

Darius: I'm not very good at playing top, but I really like this dude. I think he's legit still.

Cassiopeia: One of my favs, love her ult, I heard her passive is better now but I haven't really messed with her enough to know the difference - other people are playing her cuz shes free so I will come back to her.

Riven: another champ I love but am not great at. Just played her mid against bots lately.

Taric: my only support character really, just got him at the time cuz he was cheap and didnt have a support.

Hecarim: like him a lot, but not sure he's very good. I got kicked from a game today because someone said he was 'too risky', and his cooldowns are brutal. Also seems highly reliant on ult to be of any use in teamfights.

My fav thing to do is probably jungle even tho im not great at ganking, maybe that will come with practice.

Just thought I would get some general feedback/thoughts so I dont foolishly spend IP :)

Taric is pretty bad right now. He can work sometimes but he's definitely nowhere near being a tier 1, tier 2 support, arguably tier 3 support. Good supports that are somewhat similar to Taric are Leona, Braum and perhaps Thresh. Good supports that aren't all too similar to Taric are Janna, Nami, Morgana. Overall Thresh is considered by most to be the top support pick. Also, welcome back!

darius is a pub stomper, he's good against noobs, susceptible to ganks, he hasn't changed much since his release

cassiopeia got a rework, she's one of the worst champions in the game in my opinion. Terrible early game, pretty much useless until 40+ minutes, which makes her probably the worst champion in the game

riven got some nerfs, she's kind of a niche pick, still okay

taric isn't great, heavy nerfs, out classed by a lot of other supports. I actually don't think he's bad, I think there's just better supports

hecarim I'm not really sure about, he seems decent enough, but I can't really tell

i would not consider thresh a top pick support, he's good, probably tier 1, but a terrible laning phase
Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!

Riven is godlike broken currently if she gets even a few kills.

Taric is pretty lackluster but works

Hecarim is decent but if behind he becomes an initiate bot, nothing more.

Thresh is really hard to learn in my opinion, if you want tankiness, assuming you're not very interested in the support role, I would advise Leona or Braum. I would also advise to pick up either Nami or Janna. Morgana's nice too.

About Riven, I talked about her with someone earlier today and he said that she's like Lee Sin, in order to play just a bit well you have to be good at playing her. But if you can play her you can do very well. I think that's a great description. Mostly her health regeneration (sustain) got nerfed while you were gone I believe, and her snowball potential (Rito worded it as "not falling behind so fast when you're not doing well")
********'s a pretty good fertilizer

Sounds like I don't have a good crop of champs. So would picking up Graves the Lissandra be a good idea? Support I'm not too worried about...seems like every game where an ADC does something dumb and gets killed they start screaming at their support. doesnt sound like a good time.

good point about hec and initiating, I feel honestly that his ult is about all he's good for, other than being somewhat mobile. usually towards end game if you're winning he's tanky enough to help with crashing the enemy's inhibitors etc but he seems in the middle if that high overall in terms of junglers.

sounds like for now my best option is getting better at riven and finding better top and jungler champs. cass seems like a decent enough mid poker to at least get by and if not i can always use riven mid.

Cassiopeia is still pretty cheese 1v1'er at level 2 against most match ups, still see some complaining about her and I don't play her myself so not sure how strong/weak she is aside from their ramblings.

Duo bot's always been problematic, so it's to be expected you would want to avoid it when not playing with a friend.

Lissandra's always been pretty stellar, and is starting to see a lot more play again due to her initiate and delete combo.

Graves' is a pretty good early to mid game pick, his issue is his ability to fall off if he doesn't get fed/ahead, also having pretty iffy animation cancels.

and depending on what you actually do on league, your pool of champs doesn't have to be too large. If you're climbing ranked, in theory you could just play a single champ, it'll get boring, but you progress.

Just wanted to throw it in here: Riven mid got hit hard when the value and duration of her shield was nerfed. I think they touched her passive back then as well. She is still bretty guud top but I wouldn't play her mid.
