yeah, a famous example of this was the chrome rammus
(and they even forgot the original authors name for a little bit)
on leaguecraft they have several of custom skins for champs that you can download and install, however they save over your regular files...
so if you find one for warwick, for example, it would save over your classic skin (if you chose that one) and it will show the new skin until you put back up the original files. (assuming you still kept hold of them.)

Or you can alternatively just create the character folders. No save-overs and just delete the folders if you want the original skins back. Same with the particles. Not sure what the path is but i believe it's something like league of legends/air/game or something.

Ah, okay. That would be pretty nifty if they allowed custom avatars in-game.
They do but... of course, you're the only one that can see it. They even get their community skin ideas from people around their forums posting custom skins, so I guess that works? As long as they're getting consent and not plagiarizing them I guess it's cool.
