Oh, we got a badass over here that hasn't given much detail is to why. At the end of the day, my 2-3 month payment plan method of getting a really strong PC will crush your pathetic AMD builds.

You want details? This is my system: a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe with an i5 2500k (overclocked to 4.2GHz), a R9 290 (Sapphire Tri-X) I bought second-hand and some other random goodies. I run all the case fans at 25% fan speed (PWM controlled so they do ramp up if CPU temps go above 65 degrees C) so they make next to no noise, my CPU fan is an aftermarket Corsair fan which I run at 80% but is practially quiet with its low noise adapter.

For my GPU, I run a custom fan profile set to make sure it's silent at lower temperatures and doesn't ramp up higher than 40% under heavy load. You can see the temperatures (after 3 hours of playing Witcher 3 and League of Legends) here:

@Searz/utopus: when overclocking I'd recommend using CPU-Z to verify that your overclock is in place, and HWMonitor to check your temperatures. The overclocking itself only happens in your bios/uefi indeed.

And you know what? My system is whisper quiet. More fans means you can run them at VERY low RPM's. I'd rather have 10 case fans running at 10% than 2 running at 100%.

Also lol 3 case fans isn't all that much. The standard for even a lot of entry level systems is two case fans: one for the intake, one for exhaust.

My 7 year old PC has a total of only 3 fans and boasts roughly the same temperatures.

So? Mine runs whisper quiet, was very cheap and runs all games pretty much maxed out. Good job getting the temperatures right, now do the rest.

He has 6 fans(from what I can see, maybe more). 3 on the GPU, 1 aftermarket fan, 2 exhaust fans. I have only 3 fans. 1 on the GPU, 1 stock Intel CPU fan and 1 exhaust fan.

Even without context, that's ******ed as it is.

What does it even matter how much fans I have? They are whisper quiet and didn't cost me a penny extra. As I said, I consciously made the decision to have more fans running at a low RPM. I can easily completely turn off a couple of these fans and still run decent temperatures.

That's so adorable, you're still trying. My PC runs really quiet as well unless I'm running an open world game like Tomb Raider on higher settings than I should for how old my PC. But, it's been a while since I've dusted my PC so it's a bit on the loud side until I get that done. System Build over Graphics Build any day of the week. I'd recommend you use Nintendo's theory of lateral thinking more often. Although, lateral thinking in general would go a long way.

Now this is just for the graphics cards yes? Perhaps a need for an afer market cooler is the reason my graphics card can't handle too many character models on screen without shutting down? (I don't have an AMD card)

No, coolers generally keep cards cool enough to run without problem. Bad coolers just get loud.
If your GPU is overheating then there might be something broken on the card or the cooler.

Wow, that **** must be pretty loud. Without a dedicated intake and exhaust you're bound to get either ****ty temps or ****ty noise levels.

Right, because an i7 isn't a complete waste of money for gaming.
The performance improvements over an i5 are minor compared to the increased cost.

All the matters is you do right the first time so you don't regret it when your card burns out 4 years later

Fun fact: the only GPU that has burned out for me was an Nvidia GPU.
Cards rarely burn out.

Geez dude, at least post a funny video if you're gonna post some ****.
I could say the same for you, honestly. You're so obsessed with making AMD look bad, I wouldn't be surprised if some other company was lining your pockets for smearing the competition! But obviously that's unlikely as you've stated you can't afford a new computer.

Buuuuuuurn~~
