He's banned, genius.

I don't know if it's permanent however.

"I also am Otherkin. Whenever autumn rolls around I can feel my kin-type slowly taking over my body. You must know, I identify as pumpkin. I can control it pretty good most of the time, but when September ends, I just cant hold it in anymore. Whenever Im outside I see my brothers and sisters being chopped into soup, coffee, donuts, cake, drinks, bread - ppl even cut human faces into their skin, making a mockery out of their noble appearance. When I see things like that I cant control my pumpkin urges anymore. My natural instincts kick in. I then sit down motionless, while getting bright orange." - Morgana L

So someone I know posted this video earlier today and I was honestly kinda not sure what to say about it.

I don't think anyone deserves to be sexually harassed for any reason, period, and I think the Con handled the situation incredibly poorly. On the flip side, I also think her costume seems to push the level of appropriateness based on the rules established by the con — but I can't really see how short her skirt actually is — and I'm not sure how she thinks they're not allowed to change their minds about whether they think something is appropriate or not. They can capriciously decide something is not appropriate and there's really nothing anyone can say or do about it unless there's reasoning to believe or actual proof that the decision was discriminatory.

I hate girls like her. She's clearly just a big attention *****. Consistently choosing risque cosplays just to garner attention through sexual attraction and then getting mad when people treat it sexually.
Also, her definition of harassment is wrong. They may have been rude and *******s, but I doubt she experienced much ACTUAL harassment if any.
That said however, I obviously don't condone bad behavior toward people just because of their bad choice in clothing. The problem is of course that we don't know what they said to her. How bad it was. So we can't make any substantiated claims about how the situation should have been handled.

Regarding the Con's way of handling it: sure, do throw her out, but please throw out the other risque cosplays with her, because otherwise it turns into a real bad case of double standards.

I'd also like to comment on the whole enticement culture we've got going right now. Women are literally going around clothed in small pieces of tape and/or cloth, barely covering their privates.
This is obviously gonna arouse sexual attention in members of the opposite sex, because that's how biology works.
But the moment they act on it they are condemned by society.

I do have one question though: why do people not bother to consider what the target audience of a convention is when considering a cosplay? I'd say that a convention for Avatar the Last Airbender probably isn't the proper venue for a fan service Caitlyn cosplay. There's 100+ champions and hundreds of skins, pretty sure it wasn't necessary to pick one of the most risqué and fan service-y skins to cosplay at this con. If it was Pax or something I could understand, but this just doesn't make sense to me.

Are you talking about her now? Because MomoCon has this description on the website: "MomoCon is a fan convention in Atlanta that brings together fans of Anime, Animation, Comics, Video Games, and Tabletop Games"

Cosplay is done for sexual attention in so many cases, it's sad really.

This is what I wish more people were doing:

Anyone wanna pitch in their thoughts on the matter?

We call people like her "The Big Easy" here in California. Just saying.

Is it that difficult for an adult to show restraint? If you feel aroused and attracted try and approach the person who's causing this in a civil and cultured way and then if things don't go as planned respectfully walk away (hopefully on a good note). Instead of this, however, I constantly see people screaming out things like "Nice ***!" or very boldly telling their friends what they would do to said person and how good they're bound to be in bed.

I'm not one to preach a life of abstinence by any means, but I definitely think a more decent approach is needed. People may make a mistake and not have the guts to then admit it and apologize, and moments of desperation come where some just lose control - but that's fine, we're all human and prone to making mistakes. The problem I think is the blame shifting game, you know - the whole "they were asking for it" mindset that encourages the same behavior while managing to convince the "offender" that they're in the right. I mean, why is it my fault when he was clearly asking for it? Some people dress provocatively to show confidence, others because they feel better about themselves and to improve their self-esteem, and then some may dress to purposefully gather attention and make people ***** but unless someone is being very upfront with you specifically, they are never truly 'asking for it'.

tl;dr I think taking one cookie from the plate is alright, but trying to get a handful the moment they're in sight is deserving of a smack on the hands.

p.s, sorry for sort of ranting out. I've been thinking about this topic a bit recently and just wanted to share what was on my mind, this seemed like a pretty good opportunity to do so.
Thanks to GrandmasterD for the sig!
