Darius is decent at low elo, people don't know they have to stay away from him. Pantheon is very strong in the early game and very snowbally and there's not much counterplay to his kit: he spears you, he stuns you and he kills you. You have to kill someone, though, or else you'll fall off in the late game. Dr. Mundo is a very rare pick, he is my main and people underestimate his fighting potential. Shoving him out of lane is very hard, but watch out for his poor early game. Trundle is NEVER, I mean NEVER seen top lane, and he counters a lot of people. Give him a go, he is super easy to play and has loads of damage. Nunu & Willump is also good top lane, also very hard to shove out of lane.These are all unconvential picks, but do work Top, make sure you try them out.

That Trundle is a good idea, but you need to farm a lot and there is a danger that enemies can just kite you around, you have no real cc or gap closer
Try Nautilus even though he is played a bit these days, he is strong in teamfights and easy to be ganked
Olaf is a great pick to destroy enemy carry, your ulty makes you to ignore every enemy CC
My last choise, Rengar : he is very strong 1v1 and when you learn the combo you make the fight instantly 5v4, thats nice, isnt it? :)

the best top laner who nobody knows about is Mordekaiser. I was in bronze 5 after promos and i carried myself out of bronze and silver in a week with morde. He's currently better than all other top laners and nobody knows how to play against him. ive never lost lane and almost never lost a game with him, but sadly my teammates troll me some games. 10/10 would recommend morde
