Maokai is a riven counter because riven spams spells, which gives him lots of sustain in spaced out battles. His CC also hurt her a lot, and she does badly in general against early tanky champions. After the first back riven didn't have any sustain (just brutalizer) nor ult (she misused it under your turret), but you kept spamming E instead of going in with W+aa+Q for an easy win-win trade. That eventually escalated in your death once she regained ult CD. To top that off your team was awful, but if you played a bit more aggresive you might have forced the jungle to gank you, which would have released some tension in the rest of the lanes. Also, if you killed that riven early (or forced her out of lane too often) and their jungle didn't gank, she'll probably start flaming or go afk. Forcing my enemies to tilt is my go-to strategy :P I only fully watched until 15 minutes into the game, but you seem to have some mechanical shortcomings. You did a good jungle steal, but didn't check for the enemy invade (or if your team could invade). After 18 minutes it's just watching one team lose (and jax derping), so I stopped watching.[/spoiler][/quote]
