Just no Rylai. Specially after its nerfed, it became an utility item rather then an ap item. Burst mage should have more ap and burst. Also, morellonomicon gives 12 Ap and a bigger shield from Seraph's embrace, which gives defensive stats like Rylai and also 20% cdr which fills the build to 40% CDR. I don't know why these synergizing items are in their individual builds.
Rylai can also be replaced with Void Staff, which is essential and should not be situational. Void staff gives 35% magic pen and not BONUS magic pen, making it good against all targets.
You gonna say "this is your opinion". I know, I'm just giving critical suggestions.
Rylai gives me hp (survivability)/ap and nice amount of slow when chasing, I won' be ALWAYS chasing ADC and MID with low hp sometimes I they will be dead in fight and I will need to attack their tank, slowing him is something important because you cannot kill him with combo.
I did post few different viable builds,
But I'm going to do some calculations because Abyssal Scepter doesn't give much more damage against enemies might replace him soon in the builds.
Thanks for your comment :)
Abyssal scepter is good against enemies that uses abyssal scepter as they are ap too and probably melee lol
I'm a player in China, and Syndra is currently my fav. champ. However, on the new 7.1 patch update, her W was nerfed. Any new tips & tricks with the new W? I don't think that 7b ulting is that easy anymore, but thanks for the guide!
She didn't get that much of a nerf, tho yeah it is harder to achieve 7 balls than it was when you could grab 3 balls and secure 7 balls on your ultimate, I kinda like new passive for W now, it gives 20% true dmg which is something that is really nice to have because it ignores all magic resist, so your W can do more damage than it could before, You can still achieve 7 balls while having 40$ CDR by using Q, Q, W ( take first ball ), Q, W and R :), it is harder than it was with old W but I guess that new W does more damage as AoE spell you can do way more damage when you hit 5 people with W example :).
The tips you given me are great, you could maybe put them in the guide. Thanks for the awesome guide! Keep up the good work!
Sure I will put them in the guide, I just didn't have time last few days since she got recently updated :)
Good luck summoner :)
I've been playing Syndra ever since I've found your guide but I am curious why you like to build Tear on syndra and getting Ludens early? Normally, people build Morello into sorc shoes then Rylais. After the core it usually goes to Rabadon's, void staff, then Zhonyas. I'm just wondering cuz wouldn't Tear be slow for the meta right now which is much more fast paced? I just tink that Morello is more cost efficient as the AP, CDR, and Mana it gives are really good as well as the grievous wound passive. What are your opinion?
Also, Syndra is likely going to get nerfs in patch 6.24 based on teh PBE testings. The nerfs right now are reduced base damage to her Ultimate from 90/135/180 to 70/115/160. I think because many people say her ultimate does way too much damage and she is pretty "OP" right now. How would this affect Syndra and/or the matchups and meta?
I would like your feedback on this :)
Let's start with Ludens first, I'm replacing it nowdays often and not building it at all, it provides you with nice amount of AP and movement speed to roam a lot but nowdays as you say it's kinda a bit useless item, so instead Luden I often and nearly always go for Abyssal Scepter which provides me less ability power but gives me nice amount of MR and one of new best passives for AP mids and Scepter has unique passive with her ultimate as it increases damage taken to enemy for each ball you have thrown on him.
Tear of Goddess is something I'm used to, it gives me nice amount of mana and mana regeneration which I use early to punish and bully my opponents which later on gets upgraded to Archangel that gives nice amount of AP and when fully upgraded it gives me shield to protect myself from assasins and those kind of 1shot champions, also combined with Zhonyha you're basically saved from death in many team fights without having support to babysit you.
I usually fully build up tear within 20 minutes.
Thing I don't like with Morello is that I don't get enough mana to spam spells,
But you can always replace my build as I said with those 4 items bellow, you can take Morello instead of Ludens and instead of Tear/Archangel you can take Scepter and continue with Zhonya, Rabbadon and Rilay.
I'm not sure about nerf since I don't play on PBE but I believe you because since last championship people use to ban Syndra 24 7 because someone played her and dominated game, I will still continue to play her even if they nerf her because I like of way how she works, she has unique mechanics and requires a lot of skill to land all 3 spells.
Also, doesn't getting Ludens and Archangel staff means you don't get 40% CDR? The reason why I always get Morello as core with Zhonyas later is because my rune setup has 6 CDR/lvl blues which means it will gives me 40% CDR later in the game so I can spam abilities easier. I know you like the mana from Tear but I feel it's a little too slow for me and I feel that morello gives me enough mana already as Syndra's abilities are pretty cheap mana cost anyways.
Just a few last notes because I am a bit curious.
Just bought syndra few days ago and this build made me get better with her. thank you!
