nvm got it working im a god

I unplugged and replugged the motherboard and swapped the CPU fan from fan slot 1 to slot 2 and one of those things apparently was the problem because it's installing windows right now.

I'd like Searz' input on this, but I don't think that is normal and I don't think it's the CPU that's dead or smth. My guts say it's the motherboard components that are dead from the spark based on the information given, but I don't know how likely that is.

As long as he shorted the right pins to turn it off there shouldn't be any problem, but I don't see why he'd short them manually over just pressing and holding the power button.. (this is what the power button does, for those unaware)

While mere moments ago you were pissing your pants XD

Glad to hear that it's working.

The one you recommended initially, MSI Z170A.

Pretty sure Vyn never actually recommended that one. That was Masterer.
Did you get a 6600K with that? (-K parts are needed to overclock)
Are you even planning on overclocking in the first place? Because otherwise you've kind of wasted 80£.

Oh hey, I missed a comment.
this graphic is from the review of the Dell U2515H by TFT-Central and shows the overall display lag of various screens. As you can see, stuff like the rog swift pg278q or the benq XL2720z in instant mode performs in the 3ms area while the better of the ips screens are in the 10ms area.

Not a fair comparison. Asus actually has an IPS panel in one of their ROG Swift screens, and it has 5ms response time.

So we're looking at 5ms vs 3ms. And the IPS screen has less noticeable motion blur.

Asus ROG Swift PG278Q (TN)

Asus ROG Swift PG279Q (IPS)

Sure, there's a tiny advantage to response time with TN-panels, but it's in the league 1-2ms and at that point it's so insignificant that I'd say that it hardly matters. Because with 144Hz you're still looking at a 7ms pause between every frame (17ms for 60Hz).

I think I did recommend the Z170A, although I revised my advise to lower the price and fit his needs better. Higher end motherboards have some decent features that you can't find on H170 boards (ie SLI support, NVM-E support which aren't often found on H170) because Intel limited features a bit more on H170 compared to last gen, which is why I originally recommended it.

@Luther, just because I'm curious, can you list the parts and send some photos? :)

Those look like ninja wounds. I bet he probably doesn't know from where it came from, and just noticed it, once his hands started to sting a bit.
