I was Silver III. Went 7-3 in placements and got Bronze II. Ugh. What's weird is that I won all five of my first matches. My first match was a great game, where I could tell there was a lot of variation in skill -- one or two on each team better than I was, one or two guys on each team clearly worse. But overall, the cooperation was good. The second game wasn't quite as good. My team won more easily, but still it felt similar in skill levels. Then, the next three games seemed to go *down* in skill level. Like mid-bronze level.
Then, in game 6, wow, that was the worst set of players I'd seen in a long time on both sides. I was playing support with an adc who literally missed 2-out-of-3 cs. He and some others on the team were making "just leveled to 30" errors. I guess the game figured that since I'd won my first 5 games that I should be able to carry the game on my shoulders alone. I almost managed it, but not quite. First loss.
Then, the rest of my games felt kind of like the mid-Silver games I was used to. Some good plays, some sloppy, some coordination, some not so good coordination. Went 2-2 and ended up in Bronze II. :-(

4-6 and plat 1. Best i've ever done in 5 seasons, haha. Placements are pretty dull if you're higher elo since you can't go any higher than plat 1 and it actually hurts you to go 10-0 because you skyrocket in MMR and start getting much more difficult matches for very little increase in LP gain. It takes away the stress too though I guess :p

I saw a cool piece of advice on youtube:
The placement games are going to have far greater variation in skill --- so find the weak link on the enemy team and abuse them. People are more emotional in these matches, because they are more important, so get them raging by destroying their weakest player.
