I always wondered how Nami ended up being such a "useless" support. Well, obviously she is not useless but nobody plays her anymore.
I am not a pro so I can't tell but all I see is she has hard engage/disengage with her ulti. Nice poke with her W which also heals and that buff from her E can also give a little edge when fighting if used on the right champ.
I do understand that her skill cap is kinda high and if you miss your bubbles you are sort of screwed and the cd on her spells are also little bit too long but for e.g. what makes Brand better support than Nami? Just because of his burst? His stun is also a skill shot.

I wouldn't quite compare brand to Nami. I think that people often compare janna to Nami. People think that janna can simply do everything that Nami can do except better. She can disengage better than Nami, and can peel better than Nami, and she can usually protect carries slightly better
Ironically enough, Nami soft counters janna in lane.
Brand is considered better than Nami because he exerts more kill pressure on his opponents than Nami does. With/against Nami, you're often playing this sort of way is attrition kind of game and most of the time your opponents will end up just having to recall early and lose 15 CS or something. With brand, his spells are is a lot easier to hit and his abilities have higher base damage compared to Nami

I like the idea of Nami and I've seen some Nami'ls who really impact a game. Still, I hate how long her cooldowns are when I play her. After I've blown everything on the initial engage, I feel like I'm just sitting there firing weak auto attacks for what seems like an eternity.
However, admittedly I mostly played her before this season started. Maybe with Thunderlord's Decree, her E-auto-W-auto harass might be more fun and rewarding.

Don't buff sleeper champions in terms of mechanic. We don't want another Irelia.

It's happening. But, Iceborn Gauntlet and Tiamat, rly?

He is gonna kill you!!!
I think Blian gets what's going on though. I believe that a perfect Nami outdoes a perfect Janna in neutral situations (as a former Janna player), but Janna is just so more reliable. Even I almost can't miss her Q.
That also means that the suggested buff would make Nami insane IMO but that's not the point.

Also played in EULCS this week. I used to play it myself in toplane as well, it has a pretty poor early game but against high-AD teams it's incredibly powerful once you finish about 1-2 items. You can easily oneshot carries after these two items, assuming they did not get QSS before that.
