I think you just had bad luck with the placements (like most people here). Either that or you actually dropped your MMR due to consecutive dodges. The division/tier you end in after placements should depend solely from your MMR or else some people would be placed and immediately tank or skyrocket their LP gains (haven't heard that happening right after placements).
