Probably depends a bit on the LP, but in general it's true that the skill difference within high-Elo (diamond+) is massive. The reason why D5 is so terrible in particular is because many people don't care enough to play this game seriously (i.e. not first-time champs in ranked). High plat is much more enjoyable because more people tryhard in my experience. If everyone picks their main champs and tries hard in diamond 5 the games could be great fun, but sadly that's not the case way too often. I know that goes for any 5th division, but in my experience D5 is the worst.

On EUW every time I've seen a ~100 LP (both higher and lower than that) Master player, they've played visibly better than the high Diamond players, even though the gap in LP between the two can be as low as 150 (+ promo series)

That seems to be my experience playing with a bunch of low-mid gold players. They just can't be bothered to give a **** or try at all.

I had two games where I had Riven jungle on the first and Sejuani support on the second. And they're low Plat. I'm so tilted right now. Hey, at least the Riven jungle did pretty good.

This is why I don't want to play with players whose ranks are lower than me (Silver 5 to 3). Ugh, why play Lee Sin if I expect you to feed every single moment? Then you called me a dumbass because I was saying that you should defend our turret? Ugh, then I'm demoted to Gold 3 again.

I went on a huuuge win streak from Diamond 4 to Diamond 1 (was 16-2 w/l in duo q with Vyn), then when I got promoted to Diamond 1, I got 6 losses in a row straight into demotion wtf. Am I a god or not????













At least I got this play out of my win streak though.

Now riot thinks u don't deserve diamond 2 either and gives you +13 LP gains while losses give you -30.

I also managed to get Diamond 1, but the obvious difference here between Vapora and me is that I do manage to win that all important 5th game, after losing 4.
